Baby Giraffe Cake
This baby giraffe cake was for a baby shower. The cake was french vanilla with white buttercream. I added sliced strawberries to the fill and covered in fondant. I used fondant embellishments and rice krispies for the legs. Next time I would love to do a baby lamb!

Bridal Shower
For this shower I took a different approach than the traditional round/square cakes. I decided to do a wedding dress cake with a barbie insert. This cake was 3 tiers, mixture of yellow and chocolate cake. I had a lot of fun with this cake and also learned a new technique of making fondant drapes/swags. The secret weapon is a simple drinking straw. For such a simple technique it sure adds a lot to the cake. I also used some sanding sugar to sparkle up the dress a little! This cake was well received by all the guests and the bride/groom to be! Congrats Melanie & Jimmy!

Elmo & Cookie Monster favors
I received an order for Elmo & Cookie Monster cookie favors for a birthday party. I was so excited to make these because I love elmo and cookie! These were really fun and a little challenging. I used a modified football cookie cutter for these and cut out circle eyes, nose & little cookies (to add a second layer effect). Finished off in little bags with coordinating ribbon....there you have it....cookie favors! Thank you so much Sandra! Hope the birthday girl had a great birthday!

Baby Shower - Cowgirl Theme
Its been awhile since my last post...a couple months back I did a really fun theme for a baby shower - COWGIRL! YEE HAW! Cookie favors were requested. I ended up with a cowgirl hat, boots and bandana cookies. These were so much fun to watch them come to life. I was also so excited to see them as part of the party deco as this host throws one heck of a party!! Thank you Maritza!

Bridal Showers...
Made these for a bridal shower. Host wanted me to incorporate teal into the design. Here is what I came up with...
And...
A 3 tiered cake for another bridal shower. Layers of white and chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.
3D Spiderman cake and web cupcakes
I made this cake for my sons 2nd birthday party! It turned out great and he LOVED it! The downside to this cake is...it took forever! The webing is fondant strips and that took so long to do. I thought it would look better with fondant vs buttercream. I didn't want to chance smearing it with my not-so-steady hand!
This cake was layers of chocolate and white with carrot cake cupcakes!

Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. cookies for a 4th Birthday party. The birthday boy requested Super Mario themed party so this is what I came up with. I didn't even attempt Mario, but I was happy with what I did and how it turned out. My favorite is probably the Goomba guys.
Baby Shower Cake
It's a girl! I made this cake for a baby shower of a friend of mine. Two double layer cakes (one chocolate, one red velvet) covered in fondant. I was really happy how it turned out.

Spider Cake
This cake is 100% edible. The spider is made of chocolate cake and the base is red velvet. This was a last minute cake, but I think it turned out pretty good.
